Understandable, and yes he is a great player. But to think you’re getting a top end D prospect who went 6th, another high end C prospect who went 9, a possible lottery pick, and more for a guy who still has his blemishes is just as unrealistic.

Danielson, Edvinsson, and 2024 1st is rich for the player, but it's also not far off from realistic for how much it would take to make Columbus
actually part with a guy who, at 26, is already the franchise's all-time leader among D-men in goals, assists, and points, regularly the best player on the ice, and likely next in line for the captaincy.
It's a little like the Boone discussion: yeah, the player is worth X, but to
actually get him...well, how attached is your GM to his job?
