Weird how a team that is filled with “busts” is somehow ahead and better than the Leafs 🤔

Just cause New York has more points than Toronto doesn’t mean they’re a better team. But if that’s what you wanna believe, you do you

Lmao you really think Toronto is better than the Rangers from top to bottom? There’s a reason why there is a regular season to determine what best make the playoffs lol

You really think the regular season means anything?

How’d that work for Boston last season?…

Or how’d that work for Florida? They were the very last place team to get into the playoffs and then went to the cup final. Hell the 2012 Kings were the 8th seed in the west and 3rd worst team to make the playoffs and they steamrolled through the playoffs only losing 3 games and they even played the top 3 teams in the west that year!

Regular season means nothing.

TBF, the Rangers get more of teams like Columbus, Pittsburgh, NYI, Philly, Carolina, Washington and NJD whereas Toronto gets Florida, Boston, Tampa, Detroit, Buffalo, Montreal and Ottawa (A much easier schedule)

Leafs are also in the top 5 in games lost to injury... And they are 2-1-0 against NYR this season

The playoffs also mean nothing to the Leafs either lmao how many times did they move past round 1 in the last few years?

Hell the rangers, who are apparently not as good as the leafs, made it to the ECF more recently

Lmao keep discrediting the rangers…go ahead

Meanwhile they have a better record against top 10 teams than the Leafs do. And let’s not act like the rangers didn’t lose Fox, Kakko, Igor, Trouba and Lindgren for some time lol

Rangers are 1-1-1 against Leafs this year
1-1-1 against the leafs last year

I find kids like you the most comical.. the ones that act like they know stuff but really don’t. Just cause a team has come further into the playoffs in the past, doesn’t mean they’re better right now nor does it mean they were better that season

Use the Leafs for an example..
2023: win the first round against Tampa 4-2 in a series that they won 3 games in OT and were highly outplayed for the majority of the series
2022: lose first round against Tampa 4-3 in a series that they highly outplayed Tampa in and had a horrible penalty call in game 7 that negated a goal scored

The playoffs are flawed. Just because you win a round doesn’t mean you’re the better team. Actually watch games to learn something instead of being bias towards your favourite team in thinking they’re the best in the league.. honestly I wouldn’t even say New York is a top 5 favourite to win the cup.

Leafs are 5-3-1 against the Rangers over the time period that you’ve stated. & you’re trying to say that the Rangers are getting discredited when you’re clearly discrediting the Leafs who have won more… that’s called hypocrisy!

You’re acting like the Leafs are a way better team lmao meanwhile saying regular season doesn’t matter and then playoffs don’t count

So please explain how exactly are the leafs better? Or are you just biased because it’s your team and it’s understandable

You’ve been the one proclaiming that the Rangers are a way better team this entire discussion… hypocritical again.

Leafs are more well rounded and play a better structured game. Rangers rely too much on goaltending and honestly their bottom 6 isn’t that good. It’s borderline AHL calibre. Leafs have a massive advantage in terms of top 6 and depth throughout the forward core.
Rangers have a slight advantage in defensive ability, but it doesn’t make up for the disadvantage in their offence compared to Toronto. Leafs defence has been well improved and is just looking to get healthy - they play a more up tempo pace which helps their forwards push the offence.
Goaltending goes to New York but again Leafs have shown the ability to beat the Rangers and that involves scoring of their goalies. Matthews feasts on playing Shesterkin so the history there favours Toronto.
Leah’s are also playing a much more physical game which bodes well for the playoffs.
Advantage - slightly Toronto.

Again if the Leafs were more well rounded and structure, then personally I’d think they would have be regular seasons than the Rangers and be better

I don’t know where you got “Matthews feasts on playing against Igor” from because in 8 career games against Igor he has 4 totals goals with 2 goals in two games this year when Igor struggled heavily

Again, like I’ve said (maybe you can’t read), regular seasons mean nothing. So many factors affect play.. strength of schedule and travel is huge.

But hey if you wanna get into that, how come in the time period that you’ve brought up (the last 3 seasons), this is the only one that New York has more points than Toronto?

It really seems like you’re just being hypocritical here and I can’t tell if it’s genuine ignorance or you being a troll.

Then what do you use to measure how good teams are if you’re not using regular seasons, you’re not using playoffs…then what are you using to determine strength of teams?

I mistakenly looked at Tampa’s standings in 2021-2023 oops…but my point still stands. The rangers took a big step forward this year compared to their previous years

That's because they don't play Boston/Florida as much... And notice how the Atlantic has numbers 2, 7, 10, 11?

Losing record
Losing record

That means the Leafs are 5-3-1 record over those three years...

And the Rangers lost:
- a Number 1 defensemen
- a 3rd liner
- Their 2nd best goalie
- Their 5th and 6th best defensemen

The leafs have lost:
- Both goalies
- A 1rst line caliber player
- Their best defensemen
- Their 2nd best defensemen
- Their 3rd best defensemen
- Their 5th best defensemen
- A 3rd liner

I mean they swept 3-0 Boston this year and went 1-2 against the Panther lol you’re acting like the Rangers don’t play any top 10 teams all season long lmao

Rangers lost:
A top 3 defenseman
Top 5 goaltender
An underrated 3C
Their top pair defensive defenseman who is also underrated lol

If you’re gonna talk about the Rangers, then get it right

Lindrgren in on the 3rd pair, Rangers fans want to trade Trouba and Kakko is the average 3rd liner... And Igor lost his job to Quick for a good while lol... The biggest lost here is Fox... Whereas the Leafs had a tandem of Jones-Hildeby for multiple games this year and lost Marner/Rielly. They are also sub 500 against the Leafs and Panthers lol, 2/3 top teams in the Atlantic that the Leafs play more regularly...

Please get it right...

Dude Lindgren is literally fox’s partner who plays top pair, and when together they dominate lmao

Trouba is whatever, Kakko is actually good despite the stat sheet. By the way did you know that hockey is more than just points?

Let’s not act like your starting tandem of goalies is equal to losing Igor or his slump lmao

Yea and the Leafs are 0-2-1 against Carolina, 0-1-2 against the islanders, big whoop…you’re acting like the Rangers don’t play any good teams all season long and trying to discredit them 😂

I forgot how bad Zac Jones is that Lindgren got forced up to play 1rst pair... He's still a 3rd pairing defender on most teams...

Yeah... But when you're at a point where Bobby McMann will have more goals then you have points in less games, you have no argument...

And? You're acting like the Leafs weren't on the 2nd half of a b2b with most of those 6 games... The Rangers were the rested teams when playing Toronto and Florida and had 2 total wins out of 6...

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂... Remind me, who has more Round 3 wins since 2000: New York Rangers or Boston Bruins

Remind me, who's winning the toughest division in hockey and not beating up on the Penguins, NYI, NJD, Columbus, etc. for points? The Bruins

The Bruins are a better team from goaltending all the way to coaching... They had to play the Rangers on the 2nd half of a b2b with travel for 2/3 matchups against a rested NYR team, who do you think should win? Please tell me how that's a fair assessment of teams?

I dont care about anything except this season lmao you can live in the past like a loser….

Rangers also played 2 of 3 games against Boston on the 2nd half of a back to back…….

But according to you, the Rangers suck and got lucky to even be at the top of the league in standings 😂

According to me, the Rangers are opportunistic on a weak division... You keep putting words in my mouth...

And the Ducks and Flyers as the 1rst half aren't anything to write home about, just allowed you to rest your stars and starter for the second half...
