Description
Bolster the blue line with a couple of Free Agents in Montour and Zadorov. Give decent term deals to Durzi and Moser.

Bjugstad is a big loss for this team but McBain is showing he is ready for a bigger role and takes the 3rd line center spot. This leaves a hole in 4th line center so bring in Kampf as a stabilizer.

The big deal here is to get a couple more 1st round picks to fill out the prospect pool and set the franchise up for a stable future.
**Who know maybe AZ can finally get lottery luck and get, Macklin Celebrini, the franchise center they have been missing since Roenick was traded away in 2001.

If it was a player like Hayton then maybe. The caps have too many RHD

Caps decline. We have no need for Soderstrom and that pick is valuable to our future.

Leafs decline; not enough value coming back. And maybe the Yotes should stop trading useful players for picks & prospects, or else the never ending rebuild will … well … actually never end.

GM Bill Armstrong's timeline was stated in 2020 when he took the job. He was going to do a full teardown to the studs and that his expectation to emerger as a competitive team is the 25-26 season. Judging the progress he has made since he took over from that abject failure, boy blunder, John Chayka, he is damn near perfectly on track to deliver with a sustainable future. This ACGM is my best attempt to take into account the real GMs methods and timeline expectations.

Draft picks in ‘24 don’t help a team become competitive in 25-26.

As mentioned in previous comments, the Caps don't really have a need at RHD. Maybe a forward prospect instead (Noel Nordh perhaps?) And if Brandsegg-Nygard is available at the Caps pick, I can't see them passing up on him.

Soderstrom and two mid- to late-2nds don’t work to convince the Caps to move out of the 1st Rd.
