No, this is flawed at its base. Necas is the better player between him and Caufield, and while Caufield is younger, his setting career highs with 50 points. Necas is coming off a 70 point year. Montreal need to be the one adding here, not Carolina. If you drop Harris, Strubble, and the 1st, it's probably closer to a realistic deal for Carolina. As it, easy no.

TBF Caufield is younger, has a higher ceiling, is a better goal-scorer and is locked up long term on a good contract whereas Necas has 1 year of team control left and is a prime candidate to get overpaid.

Necas, in this example, signs 8 years meaning the control argument is nonsense. It actually would favor the team having Necas. Caufield's not a better scorer if he can't stay in the lineup to score goals. Necas, ironically, has a better career high in goals. Necas is the better player, he's the more valuable player with an 8 year deal like this.

Well there's no chance he signs for 8 years at $7M and idk if I'd be comfortable giving him more as he's been relatively inconsistent for most of his career and while I admit I'm not a Canes fan at all and don't watch their games, when I watch them play against my team Necas has never stood out to me.

You need to watch more Canes games. Necas' electric speed makes him stand out almost every game he plays. The inconsistency label is 2 years old, he's proven himself to be a dominant force. 8 years 7 mill is about what I'd expect Necas to sign for in Carolina. If he signs elsewhere, it might be a bit more, but he's worth every penny,

If that’s all it takes to sign Hronek, then the Canucks will pay him that. If they move him, he’s getting $8M x 8 absolute bare minimum, might be closer to $8.5M even.

Let’s just say caufield has a better point scoring percentage career wise 71.7 and necas at 68.17 and necas has been on a wagon team btw they dont suck.
Necas has 2 more goals then caufield this season and 4 less points on a good team btw. Last season necas had 28 goals in 82 and caufield had 26 in 46 yes necas is the better scorer 😂 oh and the year before that had 9 more goals 3 more pts in 11 less games on a horrible mtl team like they havent been that bad and that much injuries since ww2. Caufield younger better contract can score better playmaker better playoff performer
Want me to keep cooking? 😭😭

Necas plays with Kuznetsov and Teravainen... Caufield plays with Suzuki and Slafkovsky. Quality of team has no place here, Caufield has the better linemates LOL. Necas has 4 less points in 4 less games,,, Necas is the better producer, better playmaker, faster skater, stronger and larger player (underrated aspect of Necas, dude is 6'2) and he doesn't have Caufield's lingering injury issues... want me to keep going or...?

Read my other comment u sound like a fool and know nothing abt caufields game
In total games played each player has
Necas has 4 seasons and 27 games
Caufield has 2 seasons and 33 games

Caufield better point scoring percentage in reg and playoffs better goal scorer as necas has 2 more goals then him this season with 4 less points then caufield
Last season 28 goals in 82 caufield 26 in 46 the year before that 78 games for necas 14 goals 26 assist 40 pts caufield 67 games 23 goals 20 assist 43 pts on arguably the worst habs team and history and im pretty sure most injuries in nhl history. Year before that was caufields rookie year scoring at a 32 goal paste and necas scored at a 21 in pretty much his second season games wise. So yea care to rebuttal????

Caufield is 23. He's got 74 goals and 66 assists for 140 points. Right? His career highs are this year, and he might make 60 points. Necas had a 60 point pace in his age 22 season, when the pandemic shortened the season to 56 games and he put up 41 points anyway (65 point pace). So, what's your point here? Other than Necas has better career numbers in a system that strangles offensive talent AND with lesser linemates because he doesn't play with Aho while Caufield plays with Suzuki? You're just repeating the same thing, and ignoring that Caufield's injury issues also affect his value

Wdym better producer lol i just told u caufield has more pts on a worse team. Necas has 12 more penalties minutes this season then caufield has in his entire career

Caufield better pt% career 71.7. Necas 68.17
Caufield better g% career 37.5 Necas 27.4
Necas 41.1
Playoffs
necas 48 games 7 goals 14 assist
Caufield 20 games 4 goals 8 assist (rookie season)
I think we know who preforms at a better goal scoring and pt scoring percentage. Oh ya did i mention rookie season.

Lmao whats caufield injury issue? Hasnt missed a game this season missed 36 games last season cuz he got cross checked to the shoulder ya totally his fault when a sniper who was scoring at a 48 goal past has a messed should ur team is def gonna keep playing him.
The year before that in like the first 30 games caufield had like 5 pts was sent down to the Ahl fired ducharme and hired msl he came back scoring goals and pts at a really high percent ppg wise so ya lets talk abt that while in the last 30+games still ending up with more pts and goals then necas on one of the worst habs team in nhl history. Want to talk abt necas scoring at a 61 pt pace in the shortened season well caufield scored at a 60.5 pt pace his first season then necas scores at 11 lmao in his first season. With the multuple rd 3s in necas playoff career suprised he only has 7 goals and 21 pts while caufields rookie playoffs stats is way better.
Caufield scores better produces better % wise so wtv u say stats are stats

So ya bring up pt scoring % goal scoring % playoff inmpact scoring % bring up point pace like caufield still trumps him in those categories

Yet, Necas has a higher Points/60 minutes because he doesn't get as much ice time. He has a worse quality of linemate and still outproduces Caufield during the time on ice... stop it now. I'm not going around in a circle here. Necas is better.

Do your research bud pts/60 by .3 thats it and thats this season hes 2 years older 158 more games 28 more playoff games has less pt% over career less g% over career if hes getting less minutes then caufield theres a reason. And idk if u know this but when u get a 90 on a essay and then get a zero on your next it brings ur average down alot necas missed 4 games which means he missed 65 ish playing time minutes. He has more giveaways less take aways the caufield.
If u think .3 this season and 2yrs older 186 games more experienced is better then caufield then thats all u 💋

While playing in a system that strangles offensive talent, and with lesser linemates because Jarvis has been so dominant. But if you want to continue to spit BS into the void, go ahead. I'm done buddy

Necas is the significantly better player now. Necas is older, but that's a big upgrade. That's the kind of thing you're going to have to part with if you want Necas. He's the more valuable player right now. He's outproducing Caufield in less ice time with weaker linemates in a system that kills offensive talent. He's also half a foot bigger than Caufield

Carolina has far better players, that is why they are a better team. Necas is far more open to play his game that Cole is, as NHL teams have game plans to stop opposing snipers especially on teams with poor depth. With that said look at Caufield's Shot%, it is unsustainably low this year. Snake bitten or teams taking away his shooting lanes? Probably a little of both but with a normal year's Shot% he would be hitting 40 already. Necas is good, mind you his +/- is the same as Caufield's yet they are on opposite ends of team success this year. What does that tell you? GWG is another marker where they are on opposite ends of the stick.

Half a foot bigger 14lbs heavier lol.
Worse defensively
Less primary pts
Meaning he doesnt nesessarily drive his line
Caufield scores better high meduim and low danger chances.
The only reason necas pts\60 is better then caufields this year is cuz necas is scoring goals at 1.13 and caufield is scoring at .74 or smt and his percentage is 7-8 and necas is 11-11.5 forget. No doubt necas is good id love for mtl to trade for him cuz hes rfa and cap will get tighter for carolina as yes hes really speedy and crafty but the stats dont dominate his all around game compared to caufield you mention his minutes his linemates those are factors but if ur having a younger guy like jarvis take ur minutes and ur top pairing your not better then him.
Suzuki 71pts
Caufield 56.
Matheson 52 pts
slaf who only has 42 pts
Next up newhook 27 pts

Carolina has
Aho 85ts
Guentzel 68 pts (14 in 11 with car)
Jarvis 62
Necas 52
Terrivainen 48
Svech 46 in 54
Skjei 42
Burns 39
Noesen slavin martinook staal drury all have more pts then newhook except drury ties so what would happen if caufield stepped up his goal shooting % and score goals and had a roster like this?

As i said caufield better defensively better takes aways less give aways hes smaller too is what the other dude loved to mention so must be way easier to not give away the puck and to take the puck away from him then necas right? Ha no.
With 155 less regular season games has 5 less gwg also pretty sure caufield set a record for most gwg at the age of 22.

I'm sorry, what? Necas is better defensively, and has a better points per 60. You go on to talk about all sorts of other stuff I can't be bothered to read, so let's skip ahead to where you say because Jarvis is having a breakout year Necas isn't better than Caufield. This couldn't be further from the truth. Svechnikov is worse than Guentzel, does that mean Svechnikov isn't better than Slafkovksy? That's a really poor way of thinking about this.

You then mention the roster. Necas doesn't play with most of them! He never plays with Staal, Drury, Martinook, or Noesen. He rarely plays with Aho. You can rotate the defense, sure, but most of their production is secondary on the powerplay. If you look at Carolina's system, the entire point is to get the puck back to the point for shots from the defensemen and look for tips and rebounds. It's why Carolina's system strangles offensive talent. Necas is doing this on an EXTREMELY tight defensive leash, and Caufield can play normal hockey and still is being outproduced relative to the ice time. Add in everything else, I just do not see how you can argue Caufield is the better player here.

As i said this season necas is better i looked at advanced stats and his p/60 is 2.56 caufield is 2.34 or smt close like that all ik is 0.22 difference caufield only has 200 more even minutes necas also missed 5 games thats abt 85 minutes+take aways giveaways and faceoff% caufield better gwg overtime caufield better playoffs caufield better high danger meduim danger low danger caufield better goals created shot rebound create caufield better necas has more shots blocked and missed then caufield and career bro ur looking at 1 season over career

The only % necas dominates in goal scoring is missing the net oppenents blocking his shots has a worst percentage in all danger goal shots. He only has a better s% which is 4% better then caufield and only has 2 more goals

Caufield is better in all danger changes and goals creating rebounds and starting the plays to create goals more primary points and assists. Doesnt get his shot blocked as much as necas or misses the net as much with about 70+ more shots
Career wise the only stat necas seems better at is assisting and thats 4 more % over career when caufield like u said is tiny gets injured and everyone sees him as a sniper.

The only real **** u have been saying is necas has less ice time and better p/60 then again if caufield wasnt slacking in goals his p\60 would be better the difference is only 0.22 while caufield shoots at 0.74 which is 0.39 less then necas so come back next season cuz we know pt wise assist wise caufield is better this season but not goals atm u cant make up stats on false truth like its the truth necas has 52 pts like y cant say anything that changes that everyone would rather a 23 yr old winger who has 56 pts then a 25yr old winger who has 52.
