Even if they finished bottom 10 it would be like 10th at this rate., they are better off winning right now giving up a 12-15th pick and keeping their pick for the next year. As if they can't solve their problems they will probably be picking higher next year.

This team probably needs 2 years to turn it around. I don't know that they have 2 years. Especially with the wheels falling off Malkin. It's a good thing that contract ends in 2 years. He might need to go to wing sooner than later.

It's ok, he's 37. It happens. Being blind to it isn't helping the fact that it's happening.

He's not the player he use to be. He's slowing. It's pretty clear.

If by wheels falling off you mean he isn't as good as he was like a decade ago - then yes you'd be correct. I took it as you saying he isn't playing well - so my fault on the misinterpretation.

I mean for his contract and his role as a 2C it's been a good season. Yes - pretty much everybody knows his linemates have woefully underperformed this season.

And again, yeah if you're argument is just that he isn't as good as he used to be I agree. But he's clearly still a top 2C in the league.
