Who would you say is taking a pay cut here? I think Bert signs a 4.5m based on the 5-year term (it seems like all other offers he received in the past were 2-4-year deals). I think Domi takes a more team-friendly for a 4-year deal that has a full NMC in Toronto. I believe the contracts are fair value

For 5x4.5 mil Bertuzzi would still be in Detroit.

Flame pass on the Andersson offer, No way that gets Andersson out of Calgary.

No we don't. Replace Robertson with Knies and it might be enough to get talks started.

You over value all our players, the value I'm suggesting is equivalent to a 1st, 2 2nds and a 3rd, who went for more?

Flames pass

I'm Assuming you are a Flames fan, just a few quick questions.
I'm just wondering is Andersson available?
Are the Flames going to rebuild their team this offseason or just do a retool?
I'm assuming that if the Flames are retooling then Andersson wouldn't be available.
Would Andersson's player comparable be Shea Theodore? If not what would you say his comparable would be?
If the Flames are rebuilding and a team offered Lane Hutson, Justin Baron, Winnipeg's 2024 1st and the Flames 2025 1st. Would that offer be more in the ballpark to get Andersson?

I don't think Andersson is available, he seems to like it here and I think he will be our next captain. How ever if Montreal offered that I'd definitely take it.

So in order

1. No he's not available for anything less than a big overpayment (more than what Chychrun got). We only have 1 other legitimate top 4 defenseman signed for next season

2. A bit of both. LA/Dallas style rebuild. They won't tear it down to the ground because they can't. Guys like Coronato, Zary, Pelletier, and Wolf are NHL now. On top of that Kadri and Huberdeau are pretty much unmovable contracts and the team needs to at least try to compete before age makes them useless.

3. Theodore is a solid comparable, he's an offensive defenseman that is serviceable defensively. He hasn't had a great season though since apparently he's still recovering from the car crash last year.

4. Montreal is almost certainly getting the Florida 1st in 2025 so I'm really not sure that offer is better

Andersson is a top pairing RD with 2 years left on a great contract. What you're suggesting is a late 1st, a player worth a 2nd (Minten) a late 3rd and 2 players Calgary has no interest in. Easy instant decline for the Flames.

I said remove robertson, who we have no interest in, and add a good RD prospect which we need. So a 1st round pick, 2 prospects worth 2nds, and a 3rd round pick. That's more then chycrun brought back. And I like andersson, but he has been terrible this year.

Toronto fans think everyone wants to play there. They swore up and down Hyman would resign for peanuts and we all know how that turned out.
