Description
Yes Yes I know he isn't getting moved but this is an ACGM website for crying out loud

Also I saw a Bruins fan trade for Drai so I thought I'd try it on for size

Détails additionnels:
Bruins fans are going to despise this but this is what a Drai trade would look like, there is absolutely 0 realm of possibility that they move Pasta or Mcavoy for him so this is what a package would look like.

Oilers fans should be elated with this package, it fills every hole we have and genuinely makes us a better team. Just to be clear I do not want us to trade Drai but if we had to this package would be amazing.

And how much do the Bruins have to pay Draisaitl to sign long term ??

I doubt ANY team would be willing to give up what it would take to get Draisaitl

Huberdeau Weegar 1st Schwidnt for Tkachuk 8x9.5

Knowing how Huby was good in FLA, cgy received a HAUL.

Pastrnak Carlo 1st Merkulov for Draisaitl 8x12.5. But Bos will pas on that one. It’s a good comp W the Huberdeau trade

No reason for Boston to do that
Especially considering the contract Draisaitl can demand

EDM won’t trade him unless they can’t sign him
And no one will give up a “Pasta” +++ for him

He’s arguably the best player in the world. Behind McDavid. EDM would want a star piece coming back, like CGY with Huby. The late firsts and the Lysell aren’t going to cut it lol. It’s logic.

But Bos would never want to move Pasta

I didn’t say the value was off
Frankly, i could only guess EDM would want so much that no team would be willing to do it

You'd need a 3rd team involved if you're looking for retention on Granlund, or you could send back a bad contract at around the same price. Sharks don't have any retention slots after the 24-25 season. That is definitely a sufficient price for Granlund though and if the Sharks were getting that decent chance they'd be willing to pay a mid round pick to another team (2026 4th?) for retaining on Granlund's deal.

Edit: It looks like you'd be over the cap even with this, anyway. That projection shows 0 cap carryover for Brown's performance bonus.

Browns deal here is 4 million dollars, this assumes he re-signs for league minimum with the bonus included in his contract.

Ah, I missed that part. I was mostly looking from a Sharks perspective, just remembered that retention part because I've discussed trading to take on Campbell before the season ends to increase the return for the Sharks by reducing the carryover penalty for Brown.

LOL no, it's not close to Draisaitl's value. There would absolutely have to be an elite talent coming back, Pastrnak or McAvoy+, this package doesn't come close to cutting it.

    1. Swayman - Edmonton already has a starter in Skinner, adding Swayman doesn't have the impact it might on most other rosters.
    2. Carlo - 2nd pairing 1-dimensional defenseman who has poor metrics and a team-high PDO. Marginal improvement over Ceci.
    3. Lohrei - no better than Broberg. Certainly not as good as Kulak.
    4. DeBrusk signing rights - he's a pending UFA, his signing rights are worth a 6th or 7th round pick.

Pretty sure Peter Chiarelli would get a better return for Draisaitl + Ceci + Kulak + Broberg.

Try to look at this from Edmonton's perspective: the most valuable piece coming back - by far - is Swayman. And he hasn't been as good as Skinner since the calendar turned, in fact he's been quite average.

    Skinner: 17-4-3, 2.31 GAA, .921 sv%
    Swayman: 11-6-4, 2.88 GAA, .907 sv%

So he'd be a backup, 1B at best. Is that worth one of the best centers in the world? Would you expect Boston to trade Pastrnak for Skinner and a few other pieces? Of course not.

Carlo is an upgrade on Ceci but he's still only a 2nd pairing guy with no offensive upside. Lohrei has little value to Edmonton and UFA signing rights have virtually zero value to any team.

    This isn't hard.
