NYR don't consider this. It'll take an overpayment to get Kakko, the fact NYR would be sending him to NJD just increases the price even more due to the rivalry

I’ve said this to others.. Drury would expect a package that is double what you would pay. So to make it simple.. 2 mid 1sts minimum. Not to say he’s worth that. There is simply 1 GM that values him at this level and the other 31 don’t so there will never be a deal to be had.

Any reports of that ask? I’m just curious about that. It would probably be blasphemy for me to pay the price I would for him, but even I wouldn’t throw multiple firsts to NY for just Kakko. He’s a much better player than the box scores suggest, but it’s too much of a buyers market out there.

And like in that case keep him, with team control and all. but his ice time in NY baffles me

Drury just isn’t willing to part with him, wasn’t willing to move him for guentzel or other players. He hasn’t released a specific ask, it’s more so just putting 2 & 2 together. He has expressed that he isn’t concerned about the timeline/schedule of KK development. So it’s more so that he would need to be wowed by a package and if it’s picks/prospects that aren’t nhl ready it will obviously be a higher demand as he’s trying to compete now as well as 5 years down the road. Kakko fits that window along with the future
