Toffoli signature would be better than a laine return, cheaper/peaks and valleys not as extreme. Would be interesting to see what this offseason brings with a few guys getting closer to being able to walk for nothing, starting to hope for Toffoli and monahan signatures, just about at a ship perfetti/schmidt to ducks for a early second to buy some cap. Extend ehlers and take two healthy swings at it beyond this year.
I'd love to see Laine back with the Jets, I still believe in Patty even with his struggles, don't see the Jets bringing him back though so it's a moot point anyway.
My only concerns with Toffoli and Monahan is their ages, Toffoli will be 32 in April and Monahan turns 30 in October, what do these guys want to stick around Winnipeg?
Also Friedman reported the other day that Toffoli is looking for a Killorn type contract so $6M or so ×4 or 5... Idk man, good player but there's some risk there, age decline and injuries could make those contracts look awful sooner then later.
I see Monahan as more necessary to keep then Toffoli, no 2C in the system, maybe Lambert but this organization isn't starting a rookie at 2C so will need Monahan to bridge that gap if they want to remain competitive.
I think Ehlers is gone this summer, I'm a big fan but Bones isn't so I'm guessing you'll get your wish with a Toffoli and/or Monahan extensions.
I'm all for trading Perfetti for the right return.
