Description
Okay not quite nothing as we’ll just have too many dmen…but no blockbusters. Sure a top 6 talent would probably be a good add but I kind of like the idea of Roy just taking that spot instead.
Either/both Armia and Dvorak get dealt at the 2025 TDL.
And yes I see Xhekaj as a top 4 dman hence the long term contract.

    Draft Catton/Eiserman, resign Barron to a 1,5 x 2, trade Ylonen/Dvorak/Harris/Kovacevic/Xhekaj

Oh me too…thought I’d do a post where they don’t bring anyone in for a change and you know what? It doesn’t look half bad and they would be prime for the 2025-26 season with a decent lineup, cap space and lots of assets to address needs.

    Keep Xhekaj. Trade Barron.
The rest I can support…unless Lindstrom is available at the draft, then that’s an easy pick to make.

Xhekaj has higher trade value than his actual worth on the ice. Trade him for a big return. Barron shouldn’t be traded under any circumstances, if he wakes up, he could be better than Reinbacher, Mailloux and even Guhle

Barron’s decision making is too slow for the NHL at times and it shows.
I don’t how many games you’ve watched lately but Xhekaj looks legitimately like a top 4. He’s big, mobile and has a wicked shot. The digs against him before were his decision making in his own zone and engaging physically even when it put him out of position but he has seemed to clean up those aspects this season and he looks great.
Progression is super important when it comes to young players. Barron still has the same issues he did since he was drafted in the first round while Xhekaj has only exponentially gotten better since going undrafted, I’d wager on Xhekaj in this situation.

Barron’s mistakes are due to him being extremely lazy. Xhekaj isn’t that good defensively and he takes A LOT of awful penalties. For a first, I would definitely trade him

Extremely lazy doesn’t bode well for Barron’s long pro career and as I’ve mentioned in my last post Xhekaj has cleaned up those aspects of his game recently. Regardless we’re at an impasse, I guess we’ll just agree to disagree.

Barron can easily wake up. I think his Laval experience will do just that. If it happen, he has one of the best potential on this team. We shouldn’t trade him away.

Xhekaj will always take bad penalties, that’s his style of play. We will have to deal with it or trade him

Well since Xhekaj has been called back up he’s played 15 games, only taking 2 minors and has been in two fights(which I don’t count since they don’t leave the team shorthanded and he did it to stand up for his teammates). Sounds to me like he’s not taking bad penalties at present almost as if he’s improving that aspect of his game.🤔

He actually has 10 min in 18 games since he got called up. That’s quite a lot

Actually it’s been 17 games and his first two games back he took some bad penalties(3 minors) got scratched a few times and has only gotten two minors since drawing back in 15 games ago. Either way the point I’m making is he is coachable and he’ll be just fine.
