The guentzel package is not on par with the Canes package. They provided better prospects. Tarasanko only cost that much because he had a full NTC and controlled his destination.

Never was Tarasenko going to Edmonton he lives in the off-season in Miami area and had a full NTC. It's also pretty clear Conroy wouldn't send Hanifin to Edmonton.

Not really, the prospects sucked in the Canes trade, either way I would've given up a 1st for him without it being conditional which Dubas would've take over that dogwater offer by the Canes

That's wrong. Koivunen alone is probably better than anything you've included here, and Ponomarev is a point per game NHL player. Yes, he's only played two games, but still. And Carolina included Bunting, you haven't included a top six piece like that. Carolina's offer smashes this one all day long.

Koivunen is like a C+ prospect, B at absolute best. And theres plenty of players who've had a point in their 2 first NHL games and they end up being nothing. Any team in the league could've presented a better offer than what the Canes did if they wanted to but Dubas must have been high that day. Oilers could've given a 1st and Holloway+ (and I didn't in this trade because the Canes gave up literally nothing of value minus Bunting and a 2nd). Don't know what you're complaining about when your team pulled off one of the biggest fleeces I've ever seen as a hockey fan

Koivunen is an A- prospect... he's top 10 in scoring in Liiga, a defensive monster, the top scorer on Oulu Karpat... this doesn't come close to what Carolina offered. It was a quantity over quality package, but it was WAY better than this.
