Ehh. Nobody's gonna give up anything for Holl. If they would, he'd have been traded. If you missed Yzerman's post-deadline interview, he said (Paraphrase) that they couldn't justify using $2M on Kostin for the role he was playing. Tells me two things:

1. Nobody wanted Holl or he'd have been moved for the same reasons.

2. Holl is guaranteed for a buyout in the summer.

I did watch it. Yeah I agree it’s a long shot even in the offseason. The on,y reason why I didn’t buy him out was cause we would have to pay him for 4yrs. But I did this cause yotes need cap to hit the floor

Ehh, they need cap hits, but they're not going to sell picks to get cap. Plenty of teams will gladly throw a pick at them to get rid of a hit. Or they'll take on an LTIR, which they love, because insurance pays most of the salary.

Holl's buyout isn't too bad either. Something like $1.1M a year, and it's four years, yeah, but Detroit's gonna have quite a few ELCs on the roster during that time.

I gotta look at his buyout. I assume they'll keep him and run him tandem with Lyon though. That's another hole they're just plugging while Cossa/Augustine devleop.

His buyout is very cheap. I agree you don’t call up cossa or Augustine and let them develop in GRG another year and at MSU for another year then to GRG
