lol I love that. Anyway yeah there is no chance I'd trade him for Eriksson. That makes literally zero sense. Why would I press fast forward three years on Lucic (in your opinion) and take a guy three years older with a contract that is just as "bad." If Lucic is going to be as bad as him in three years then ill take the three good years of him now and have him at eriksson level for three years instead of trading a good forward for a trash one with the same contract.

I'm not saying the cap will go up to where he will be worth $6M, but it will go up enough that I could retain and he'd still be worth something. Plus, that's three years where I don't waste dead cap. I'd rather retain 50% for three years than six years - retaining that long is stupid, IMO. It basically means any player that I get I'm adding $3M on to their cap hit which if they were a value contract they no longer are. And maybe he stopped playing in BOS, but in EDM he's been better so no complaints here - definitely not a player I'd retain on unless I'm getting something good.
