The Mittelstadt rumors were started by Andrew Peters,
who used to play for the Sabres & had a radio show locally.
He got let go from the show & is now doing a podcast,
& he apparently made up this crap to get some attention for his podcast (my interpretation)
Reason i think that is bc our GM has said (a few times) that he’s working on a new (long term) deal with Mitts’ agent,
& came out again to refute the Peters rumor that we were
“Shopping Mitts hard for a goalie”
I also think Peters was making crap up bc it makes no sense for us to be going after a goalie when UPL has had such a step forward & we still have Levi developing as well (who is seen as our future #1)
If Peters would’ve said for a top4 RD, then it would’ve made a bit more sense, but this is frankly just sounding A LOT like the BS hype Peters started earlier this season claiming that “we were signing Pat Kane to a multi year deal”
That was obviously a bunch of crap too

so they have a relationship & I’m sure Friedman is just taking Peters at his word about the Sabres shopping Mitts
Obviously i have no clue where Friedman got his info,

I think Peters was just making crap up (AGAIN) to get attn for his podcast & generate more listeners

Imo, Peters is blurring the lines between what HE THINKS the Sabres should do, & passing that off as legit rumors
