What is a first round pick going to do for a team trying to win now? LA is missing Anderson (LD1 shutdown), the chance of Roy being traded is near zero after the Kings have maintained a playoff spot so close to the deadline.

Maybe the Rangers with Lindgren he's having a down year maybe a change of scenery might help, or even a player like Hanafin I know he's not a shutdown guy but he is more than capable in his own end.

Hanafin would likely be the best bet as New York wouldn't be in selling mode unless it gave them something for the playoffs. But I think Alexandre Carrier would give Toronto what they need.

Matt Roy is the Kings' best defensive defenseman, and doubly critical to Los Angeles while his defense partner is week-to-week. Trading him would be tantamount to abandoning any hope of going far in the playoffs and maybe even reaching them in the first place. Kings won't be trading him, and if he walks, then it's just like a self-rental without losing any assets in a trade.
