Description

Three big UFAs in Reinhart, Montour, and Forsling - all taking small discounts here but leaves less than $7M to fill the remaining 10 roster spots and a key RFA in Lundell is unsigned.

Not sure they can afford to keep all three of the big UFAs. Might have to sell Ekblad?

Montour is playing for a lesser contract and Reinhart is also playing towards a lesser contract as of late. But he doesn’t get anything more than 8.5 from them or they let him go.

Moving Ekblad makes the most sense. He hasn’t been reliable health wise for a while now and he is due for a new contract after next season. That alone would free up $7.5 million.

Curious what a return for Ekblad would look like though given his health issues and Florida's need to make a move... I was surprised to see that he's only 28. Feels like he has a ton on miles on his body, but he is a #1 RHD.

That’s a really hard question to answer to be honest considering all the facts. Great when healthy but is injured so often and can be a bit inconsistent. I don’t know a comparable deal to measure against off the top of my head to be honest.

I don’t think Montour stays, and we will likely move either Bobrovsky or knight

Balinskis will be a regular guy on the d core next year & Samo will be a regular top 9 guy & Lundelll will sign for 2.5-3m
