Any contender. Considering lou doesn't want to sell, this would have to be an offer he couldn't refuse. realistically you would want a similar return to Lindholm or pld if not slightly more than those two. For what the isles need, they would likely want a couple young players with offensive upside or prospects, along with a first most likely. Point being it would have to be a kings ransom. Only reason I picked the rags for this example was because they were rumored to be interested and I thought it would be funny.

I don't hate the idea of Lee to the hawks but I do not want to give up a pick for him. I would probably take him w/o retention for FC.

I wouldn't mind Lee but it costs the Islanders to dump his cap. Even for FC I think Chicago declines. He has value but his contract not only negates that value but hurts it. Chicago can do without 2 years of Lee's services which gives them much more leverage.

No chance Hawks give up anything to acquire Lee, even w/ the retention. Maybe another team does, but not the Hawks. I'm not even sure the Hawks take Lee half retained for F/C, as @DangleCat suggests. Hawks have a TON of cap space. They don't need retention. They'll want assets to take Lee's contract.
