Idk why all you Canadian fans think you’ll get something of any sort of value for Allen. The guy is ranked almost dead last amongst goaltenders with 20 or more games played, he has 5 wins in 20 games played. Monty plays with the same defensemen and he’s 12 wins out of 26 games played with way better SV% and GAA. Long story short MTL would be lucky to get a 5th for Allen with 50% retained, if MTL doesn’t retain they will have to pay someone to take Allen.

Personally I hope the habs continue to struggle year after year but unlikely - high draft picks every year eventually come good so Habs should be decent in a few years. Patience is required - a bit early for a swing for the fences type of trade. 27th place is hardly a team one piece away from competing.

there are not many goaltenders in the generation Gape, so Allen might interest a team for 1 year if they are looking to put a youngster in NHL. A Portillo / Allen tandem for LA is not the best but better than what they actually have!
