The fact you're deflecting a 3rd pairing upgrade proposal to "We need PP help" makes no sense! PIT has more than enough PP capable players. They're bad so far this season but they're not gonna fix it by continuing to add more players and snubbing the ones already there more. They already have the pieces they just need to do their job better!

You gave team stats... That's like saying that Connor Brown's scoring isn't an issue because Connor McDavid and the Oilers are 5th in GF/GP... It's just wrong!

For whatever reason you're covering for awful 3rd pairing players by ignoring personal stats and only looking at team stats. What a terrible way to do things! Probably the same reason you expect them to trade for someone to fix their PP instead of just getting their core players to be better.

If you think Nurse is the one ruining Ceci's play than you are very mistaken. Nurse has been a very solid top pairing d-man, overpaid yes but still top pairing. Cody Ceci isn't a top 4 guy so you can gladly have him

Anyone watching 82 Oilers games a year knows different. Ekholm/Bouchard have taken the mantle of top pair even though mins are close. Nurse hasn't been a consistently effective Dman since Larsson left! He's regularly out of position in his own end and that gets ignored because Ceci regularly makes similar mistakes. Both of them need to be playing with defensive minded partners to reach their potential. They're not trash but they do lack consistency and aren't capable of playing a pure shutdown role, especially when Nurse isn't scoring enough to justify his cap hit. Nurse should be top scoring D & top line PP #1 for the $$$ he's making. He's not!!!

The point is that Nurse's contract demands expectations and the truth is he's closer to an albatross than a value!
