Canucks pass.
DeSmith is better than Vladar.
Canucks would prefer Tanev more than Vladar.

Tampa doesn't need the retention on Hanifin because of Sergachev's ltir space. I don't see them giving up Perbix unless they have another trade in place to address RD(which is possible). I'd offer the '26 1st, '25 2nd, Roman Schmidt and one of Gage Goncalves, Jack Finley/Dylan Duke or a prospect in that range. If one of Howard or Gauthler is a must, idk if Tampa does it or just waits to try and sign him over the summer if he's highly interested(as some reports say) in playing for them.

fair, he might just sign in summer. But if calgary is gonna move him they'd (probably) need Howard/Gauthier. Tampa's 1st isn't until 2026 so that doesn't match CGY's 2-3 year retool timeline.

Yeah, and Tampa might consider a trade of the '26 1st, one of Howard/Gauthier, and an additional 2nd or 3rd if they were 100% sure of an extension. Brisebois has certainly paid the needed price before. I guess it's all about the extension, as I definitely don't think Tampa pays that price without one. They also have to assess other potential moves, but as long as JBB feels the team can contend this season(which I think he does), then he might pull the trigger for Hanifin now.

Canucks decline. Not interested in Vladar. Assuming you're saying upgrade over DeSmith because of DeSmith's bad start the other day, but to put it into perspective even with DeSmith's 10 goal performance he still has a far better statline than Vladar. DeSmith had a .906 SV% through 16 games, then had one bad start in a game where his team was put 3-on-5 for a minute plus on four separate occasions. Canucks aren't judging him on the one bad start that was a result of a messy game by the entire team, they're judging him on the 16 great performances ahead of it.
