Description

Trade possibilities using current RFA's only for discussion; mature comments are welcome from those who wish to engage in respectful debate.

In all these cases the other team is receiving the best player in the deal, but Edmonton gains depth. I added a pick to the deals where I thought Edmonton would have to add - this "adder" could be any package of a lower level player, a prospect or pick, etc - I just put in one pick to indicate which side needed to add value to the main pieces. Feel free to debate what / how much should be added, but please try to be reasonable and please check your homerism at the door.

Signing these players is a discussion for another thread (watch this space!); in Edmonton's case I think most would have to be bridged until the Sekera and Russell contracts reach their "limited NMC" phase and can be moved.

these are really interesting moves, and i think value is pretty good going both ways despite what others might say. Parayko is my favourite move out of all but obviously id prefer to keep leon at the reasonable contract i think hes gonna sign

These are all interesting.

Parayko would be the target asset that EDM is most interested in getting back. I don't think STL includes extra picks in that deal; also don't see STL making that deal anyways. Dmen of Parayko's quality are rare assets and STL likely values him in line with Tarasenko.

I think that the Granlund / Niedereitter combination would improve EDM the most, long-term. Again though, I don't see MIN making that deal.

EDM passes on the CLB deal.

Yeah, I don't think any of these trades happen unless the players in question demand trades, but it's fun to think about anyhow.

Parayko is an interesting player, but he isn't even the best RD on the Blues roster. He's still somewhat raw, and at 24 that's a concern. He has the tools to become elite, but will he put it all together? Most elite defensemen were already considered elite by the time they reached Parayko's age... in this way he reminds me of Darnell Nurse, but much better.

Tavares for Draisaitl? I guess that depends on what the AAV's are. But taking into account the age difference, NYI might not like the ask.

I think the Nashville one is the best for EDM but i feel like Nashville would pass. I'd love to see the Boston one maybe a second instead of a first?
