- Pageau: Not a bad deal, actually a reasonable return imo considering the retention
- Palmieri: I feel like we could get a little bit more out of him if we are retaining
- Martin/Aho/Clutterbuck: Fine by me
- Nelson: Maybe could get more because taking Johansen in return is borderline negative value because he's making 4M for 1 more year and I'd rather have Pageau at that point. Maybe an upgraded prospect could get it done.

I don't think trading Nelson or Palmieri gets the Islanders anywhere, they have too much money and term invested in the likes of Barzal, Horvat, Pulock, etc to do a retool, they need to add talent not subtract it.

You could get more for Nelson and not take back a cap dump

I think you get more for Nelson he’s a bonafide 2c with playoff experience. I do think if Brock was available we’d be all in on him. Good cap hit for 2 playoff runs with mikkos current contract

Any trade ive seen on here where he gets an A- prospect it gets shut down. I think he could get 1st, Johansen and Ritchie if we did sell

Yeah, as an avs fan I wouldn’t want to give up Ritchie but for Nelson even though he’s older it would be on the table with like 2 mil retention to make up the difference in ryjos contract. Thats just not where the convo would start for the avs. I imagine we’d want more quantity over quality. 1st 3rd Olausson and behrens with ryjo as a cap dump. Maybe upgrade the 3rd to a 2nd for 2 mil Retention. But if 1st and Ritchie is the only thing that would get it done I would still do it
