Forwards are less of a need than a want imo, but I do really like Trenin.

PIT declines. You’d have to add to that for a retained Pettersson, who won’t be traded.

I’d argue that’s a pretty decent haul.

What would the ask be for him, because I’ve seen approximately this from a number of Pitt fans in discussions throughout the season?

Lenni: 2nd+3rd
Bahl: 2nd

I think you’re overvaluing those two players.

For Pettersson with no retention, I suppose your initial deal isn’t terribly far off, but you would still have to add a bit to it. We have absolutely 0 need to trade Pettersson. None. Therefore, acquiring him, especially with retention, would need to happen by way of an overpay on what would already be a great haul for a great defensive defenseman to begin with.

The only scenarios in which we move Pettersson are if we completely tear it down, or trade for a top notch guy like Marner and can’t clear the needed cap space through other means. Neither of which will happen. Even if we sell this deadline, Pettersson stays.

Yeah I cannot deny the fact that there is an ounce of homerism in my valuations. It's impossible to avoid.

It's why when possible I always try to include my valuations in terms of picks and preface that I'd be willing to replace those assets for picks or whatever can be agreed upon as equivalent value to my valuations
