Couple things. Bos picks that year and Buf picks this year are totally different. Bos was looking to make moves to a cup, very late firsts. Buffalo looking at another top 5 pick. Add in the seconds also being early, it’s not close to the same trade. Secondly, I believe Lindholm had a contract extension in place already, which you didn’t specify but maybe you meant to. Either way, the value isn’t nearly the same. Also Joki is way better than Moore ever was.

I still wouldn’t do it and think that’s an overpay. As a Buffalo fan I have no faith that Hanifin makes the difference to pull them into a playoff spot either year which is the only reason to make a deal like that.

CGY wants Holtz and a 1st for Markstrom with retention and Vanchek coming back. Buffalo wouldn't make that trade, they have a log jam on the left side they need RD.

If Buffalo wanted hanifin we could simply wait until the offseason and get him for free instead of trading 4 assets
