So Philly gives up one of the better rental RHD on the market this year, along with a solid middle-6 forward with affordable term (and, why not, a 4th rounder) just to get back:
-4x$4.5M of a goalie who's played himself out of the NHL at this point;
-an extra year of a $3.25M RHD on the wrong side of 30;
-a warm body 4th liner;
-and a depth AHLer.
I'd honestly look at the Ivan Provorov trade from this summer to get a better idea of what it would cost to get rid of Jack Campbell. We can quibble about value, but I'd argue that Laughton+Walker+4th is not too far off in value from Provorov; when Philly traded him & took back Cal Petersen, they also got a 1st, a pair of 2nds, a well-regarded RHD prospect, and a useful NHL player in Walker.
I can squint and see some of that value here: Ceci is the "useful NHL player", and the picks are there. But Janmark & Tullio are, in my eyes, much less valuable to Philly than Helge Grans was in the Provorov trade. And then you have to factor in that Campbell's deal is twice as long as the Petersen contract was when they acquired it. Significant add needs to be made on the Edmonton side, in my eyes.
