That's a massive overpay for Markstrom and Tanev. Samsonov has played well lately, so the Leafs will keep him.

No. That wouldn't get Tanev alone far less Markstrom too. Brodie and Samsonov are cap dumps even if you take both of them out it's not enough for Tanev. Adding a couple low end prospects doesn't change anything.

You're kidding aren't you. Samsonov is hardly a cap dump as his contract ends this June. Samsonov has played well recently, I don't see the benefit to the Leafs at all getting Markstrom
Look at the Lindholm trade, all the Flames really caught was a first, and had take Kuzmenko contract for this year and next.

Samsonov has had 2 good games so hes the savior again? The flames got a younger roster player, a 1st and one of the canucks better prospects. We will have to wait and see on Kuzmenko, but his addition meant the flames didn't have to retain salary.

The price for Tanev is a 1st+, maybe ++ for Treliving. Samsonov and Brodie are both cap dumps and players Calgary has no interest in... The late 1st almost covers Tanev the rest doesn't even cover the 2 cap dumps.
