You’re overpaying for him here. Teams will exploit VAN’s need for cap space, thus lowering his value even more than it already is due to his play this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were moved for a 3rd at this point.

That's definitely not true if the Canucks waived Kuz to the AHL he'd picked up in a second. But I would be shocked if the Flames couldn't get this done 1 for 1 and more realistically, if you think Tanev is worth about a 1st, it's probably move the second to the other side of the trade.
