Cup Finals Team

Description
The Ducks have a good team and only need to make minor adjustments to go all the way to the finals. They are heavy on offence with a deep, albeit expensive 3 lines and they will need to take advantage soon with some of there major players contracts expiring next year. Anaheim probably doesn’t want to tinker too much with there roster, but adding a big body who can play both ways will help. With the signing of King, Anaheim still has just over $3mil of cap space to play with. This could allow them to make another acquisition through free agency or trade.
I would also add a d-man to their roster just to add depth. Could be a vet like Campbell or another big body like Eric Gelinas.

I agree with your original premise that they really don't need to go out and make moves right now, but I don't like either signing. I'd get rid of both.

Gelinas is sitting in place of where likely Larsson or Megna could fill in this season. Both have showed they're ready for at least a taste, if not full-time NHL action.

King is filling a 4th line role when the Ducks have a ton of young kids who are ready for that spot within the system. You even have Kase sitting out who looks really promising. Save the money and give the kids a chance. You can always make those signing later on.

Also, yank Bieksa out and put Montour in. He's already far better than Bieksa is.

EDIT: I meant to hit 4 stars, my bad!

Yea, the Gelinas signing was more for depth in case of injury and also to take some of the load off of there younger players. I would have suggested that they trade Bieksa, but I dont think anyone would take him...

You're right about that, we'd have to trade Bieksa and a pick just for someone to take his contract off our hands to be honest
