<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Couturier</b></div><div>And here's another Flames fan massively overvaluing Johnny Gaudreau :tearsofjoy It's pathetic that everyone thinks he's still a 100 point guy. He performed as well as he did last year because everyone else on his team had career years. He's on pace for 68 points this year, which is fine, but he's only going to be declining. JG turns 27 this summer, the usual age for players to exit their prime. I agree that Frost + 1st probably isn't sufficient, but I can't understand how the Flames don't take that in the case that they are willing to deal Gaudreau. As a Flyers fan myself, I don't want to give up a good prospect or Patrick for somebody who has two years left on his contract and is somebody who we don't even need. I don't know what you think the price is, but he's not going to Philly.</div></div>
I see a move for Johnny as an all in move for the Flyers to go for the cup over the next 2 years. I think it’s just an off year for Johnny. He’s been really good for the back half of the year and will add more scoring to the lineup. These top 2 lines in Philly would be filthy.

They need a top 6 winger and risto is losing value. JVE is solid and Hagg is a good LD option for the Sabres who need help on D

Agree that Frost and a 1st isn’t enough, So what would be worth it to you?

Maybe add Frost, Flames add a pick going back?
I think Patrick has shown that he can be a top 6 forward. Get Patrick the change of scenery it could help him get on track.
Ghost is having a bad season and him and Vigenault don’t seem to be on the same page. I think he still has a lot to offer, but I’d try to flip him.

Karlsson for Ho-Sang, Bellows, Toews, 2 1sts.
Anderson for Griess and a 2nd
Duchene for Soderstrom, Nelson
Ryan for Cluttuerbuck
I think you've got a good framework. Obviously a trade this large would never happen but 4 stars for creativity.

So you would prefer Gudas and/or MacDonald to stay on the roster?
I would buy one of them out or make a trade and get someone better.

Gudas is a deal breaker for the Flames, and although Brodie can play the right, Flyers are looking for a RHD that can play now.

Undervaluing Brodie, by a lot.
NJ wouldn't want that package

Ho-Sang isn't a bust (yet), but I think Philly could do better.
Trade for Grubauer.
Trade away Simmonds for Ho-Sang and a 2nd (or conditional 1st).
Trade Neuvirth and/or Elliot for a pick.
I would actually like to see Mrazek for a full season, last year was rough, but maybe you could get him on a team friendly deal, if not then trade his rights.
Gotta try to trade Gudas or MacDonald this season.
Wouldn't sign John Moore, Philly has better D prospects.
Use the cap space to sign a two way winger for no more than $6 mil (JVR, Perron, etc.)

RHD Toronto? LHD and 2 Centers Habs?
In the leafs trade, I think you can get one of the two, but don't think the leafs will trade both.
I would say maybe Stone + 2019 4th for Brown, Hamonic still has something to show and I wouldn't want to trade him at a low value (not that Kapanen and Brown are bad).
THe MTL trade, I like!
Chucky and Bennett could both use a change of scenery. I think remove the pick and Lazar.

Cut Lehner and the 2nd from the Buff trade. Keep Smith for the last year of his deal.

Kessel and Tavares - PIT, MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>Cap dumps and AHLers dont equal Kessel.</div></div>
I would rate this as a 3, but I'll put 4 to make up for the Walrus' comment.
I am also tired of seeing Kessel trades to Calgary.
What I would think to offer for Kessel (whether accepted or not):
-Brodie, A top 4 D man who had 1 bad season last year.
-one of Phillips/Fox/Dube
-one of Klimchuk/Pollock
-A 2nd Round Pick
Kessel is a good player, but he is 30, and he is not an easy player to coach.
You could pay less to get other players to fit on the first line and get 60 points.

LOL, Backlund is not a cap dump.
I think this is all a bit of overkill, too many pieces moving.
Could keep the first trade would have to adjust it. Pitt is gonna have a tough time with cap space so not a bad idea to trade with them, but we are sending a lot of cap their way.
Wouldn't make the 2nd trade.
If TB actually accepted the third, absolutely lets do it.

Nyquist is 28, that is not super old, that is prime. He gets 50 points even on a bad team.
Athanasiou played a lot of 2nd and 3rd line.
How do you not know who Hicketts is? I mean I'll throw a different D prospect in but HIcketts is going to be good.
