As much as you loathe the idea, I don't think the GMs really give a crap about the "rivalry" aspect. He's a rental and Flames already moved Zadorov to Vancouver. So that alone proves GMs don't get petty over stuff like that.

Zadorov is a #5 that can play in the top 4 in a pinch. Vancouver is also not a rival, they just want to think they are. Like ask yourself, as an Oilers fan do you genuinely hate the Canucks? As a Flames fan I don't, but I do dread the day McDavid lifts the cup for the Oilers. I don't even mind if Lindholm ends up a Canuck (though I think he would look weird in that jersey).

Many teams would offer a 2nd+ for Tanev's services. If Edmonton wants him they have to pay premium. Because Conroy's head will be on a stick if he feeds the Oilers a cup and the return is average at best.

Yes, the Canucks are hated here. They feasted on the Oilers for so many years with the Sedins. If they meet in the playoffs it'll feel similar to the BoA

Meh it's still a division rival. Oilers have had their number for a few years and they returned the favour so far this year. Including the season opener. Definitely different in opinion haha
