Drai was paid fairly. A perfect offer for what he had done so far while considering him immense potential. I would say the Oilers nailed it with that contract. Drai was happy to sign the “overpay” at the time. He will sign another fair deal. I can guarantee it.

McDavid makes 12.5. I doubt Drai will ask (or get) more than McDavid.

Also, if I were the oilers I’d extend Bouchard now, up to a maximum of 8M per season, for as long as possible. Salary-wise Quinn Hughes is a comparable.
