Literally my entire point is that Kakko may not want to be there. It doesn't matter what NYR window is, if he doesn't think he is being used properly , isn't getting the chance to reach his full potential or has to watch other prospects pass him by then he is going to want out.

And if he wants out then you're looking at a Newhook type return.

NYR don't need to trade him, they don't want to trade him but if they want him to just stay a middle six winger and he wants to be more than that, then they'll be forced to move him

So..

1. He doesn’t want out and he knows he’s getting the chances but it’s been a learning curve.

Just because other teams give up on youth doesn’t mean all teams will. And for instance, if this is all Kakko ever will be is one of the top defensive forwards in the league and lacks offence, then it is what it is and he will make an appropriate wage and NYr still holds him and has a window. NYR has tons of talent so they can wait for kids to develop. This isn’t 94’

Yes because every young player loves wasting his potential by becoming a defensive specialist and missing out on millions of dollars

Good thing you know how he feels about life and playing in NYC. Rangers pass and Kakko would pass if he could. But keep dreaming Hab fan.

Also wanting to be more than you are capable of being… if they weren’t giving him chances to be a top line player than you could make the argument. But also you have to recognize that every kid(most actually) wants to learn from and play with the stars they grew up watching. When Kane came last season, do you actually believe the kids were upset that a legend was on their team and taking PP time from them? They want to win. They want these opportunities as much if not more than the chance to increase their pay by a mill. This NYR GM isn’t trading Doug weight and tony Amonte on a hunch of desperation to win. While every NYR can support that year, we also see this new wave of building an empire instead of buying a cup and then years of suffering

NYR clearly don't want to trade him, the question is if Kakko wants to stay. If next year comes along and he is still getting 14 mins a night, he won't be happy to be there anymore. Add the fact that you have Otter and Gabe coming up, if they get more opportunities than him then he definitely will want out and at that point I think you'd be lucky to get a return like the one above

Othmann is a LW so he has no effect on Kakko and Perreault is at least 3 years away from NHL ready

Lavi rewards time to players who earn it. After the last two games, it seems like he might get rewarded with more time, but it depends on game flow. If there is a lot of powerplays/penalty kills, then he isn’t gonna see the ice much. Not to mention he’s still working his way back from injury

And Caulfield may not want to be in MTL. We can all throw around hypothetical situations. Why not stick with the facts instead of playing pretend with extreme scenarios

No they won’t be. The “Cap crunch” has been going on for the last 3 years and it’s never been an issue. No OS threats either. This is a non issue for NYR

Rangers already have 72 millions committed to 14 players with Ryan Lindgren to sign. They can’t commit long term to Kakko. With Shesterkin, Lafreniere and Miller who all get some significant raise in 25-26 Rangers are in cap crunch. This is just simple mathematics. Those 3 will at least make 20 millions. So if i know how to calculate , New York will have some decisions to take. So if a team offer sheet Kakko 2 year at 4,5 millions New York won’t match. Or they will be fk the next offseason.

If the Rangers are pressed for cap they’d get rid of a bloated contract, not a young middle-six winger making less than 3% of the cap.

Also Cuylle plays LW, Kakko plays RW.

So you tell me that Cuylle forget how to play hockey when he play Right wing?
Cuylle and Kakko are wingers so cut the crap. Kakko will qualify at 2.4 millions and maybe Kakkow is another Puljujarvi. So why Rangers would stick with him. Does he make them a better team. I am not sure he does.

According to their record with and without Kakko, he does make the team better, so the Rangers should just hold onto him. If he’s going to be another Puljujarvi then you shouldn’t want him on the Habs anyway.

Ya they have been in “cap hell” for 3 seasons now and no issues lol. As for Kakko he is long term, while other might not be. For example Goodrow will be bought out this summer most likely which gives them 4m, cap goes up 4M+, then again the year after. Shesty raise isn’t going to be what people think. Miller won’t massive either. Laf will likely see a long term high aav deal in 2 years. It’s not going to be an issue but you can pretend. Lindy also isn’t getting a massive raise.

NYR wouldn’t accept that anyways. Overpay or not. We value him knowing that once his offensive side kicks in he is going to be a beast.

Devon Toews got the 2nds lmao. Youre getting twice that and Kakko sucks!

Here's a fact. Caufield already signed long term at 8 years. You are just being silly.

Wow, you’re clueless too. NYR doesn’t want to move Kakko. MTL doesn’t want Kakko because he sucks. Kakko doesn’t want out. Kakko isn’t signed long term because NYR rarely do that, they do bridge deals. Oh and NYR can easily afford him. Using an example of when a GM screwed up to make a case for a player you don’t want or like 😂, who’s silly now?! We could also talk about all the other times a GM has screwed up by giving up on a player before he pops off. These would be good examples of why not to move him after a few years of development. Bet DAL regrets giving up on Nichushkin 💀. As for being silly about CC wanting out; that’s was me making an obvious comparison of the theory that was being thrown at me of “maybe he wants out”. While I know CC doesn’t want out, you claim it’s impossible for a player to want out after signing long term. Things can change after a year or two bud. And many players are going to take that long term deal with guaranteed money and run, even if they want out they can ask to be moved later and have the contract still in tact. Now I know this isn’t currently the case for CC but it can happen. Now stop trying to make a case for a player you don’t want, and only NYR wants, and he is happy in NY. You’re so silly 💀
