Description
If the Habs sell, go all the way and trade Matheson & Savard. Go get the best return and the best Canadiens picks this year.

The time for half measures has passed. There is either a full changing of the guard, or you keep the vets and try to compete right away.

Trading the vets to let the kids play? Yeah I know it's a sure ticket to the bottom. We would get a legit shot at Celebrini if we did this tomorrow.

I don't like being in the mushy middle. Either add or subtract. Standing still sucks.

Oh CBA... You always have to make things personal. How sad it must be to feel powerful by putting others down on a hockey forum.

I have appreciated our exchanges in the past, but I will only continue to dialog with you after you retract your statement about me being closed-minded. If you can't do that, I will have to start seeing you as a troll and treat you as such.

I’m with you on trading Savard and maybe Barron or Harris this tdl.

        Matheson - Guhle
        Struble - Harris
        Xhekaj - Mailloux
        Kovacevic

And next year matheson and kovy are the next to go to make place for Hutson&Reinbacher

Nicely done. I have one quick, unimportant technical comment and then a longer substantive one.

I know what you meant here, and so do all of my fellow Anaheim adherents (which is why they haven't commented here), but it never hurts to state explicitly that "Anaheim" is a placeholder and stands in for "Any Team."

I think that your values here are realistic. If the indicated players are traded, their returns should be close to what you have indicated here. The strategy of trading the veterans now -- particularly Michael Matheson -- might be questioned, but the idea of clearing out most of the players who won't play a significant part in Montreal's future seems intelligent to me.

Apologies Anaheim fans! I really wish there was an any team team for trades!

To be honest I see 2 paths.

Path 1: The team goes on a crazy run winning enough games to get them solidly in a wildcard discussion. In that case, I really hope Kent Hughes will stand by his word and help this team out by adding a few players and letting the team get some playoff exposure. I still hope this happens. I don't really care about the 2nd and the 3rd for Monahan and I would gladly pay a 2nd and a 3rd to ensure a playoff berth.

Path 2: The GM does not believe in this team: then let's just get it over with and tank. Let's get a real shot at Celebrini by whatever means necessary. The truth is, that injuries have again derailed this team's season and I'm not sure we can expect Caufield or Dach to ever be the players we wanted them to be.
