TDL Jets

Équipe: 2023-24 Jets de Winnipeg
Date de création initiale: 16 janv. 2024
Publié: 16 janv. 2024
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
The cap should work for this year's deadline, given the Jets' accrued space. Jets probably need to trade Alex Iafallo in the offseason to make everything fit though.
Transactions
WPG
  1. Cirelli, Anthony (1 000 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
The Main pieces in return for Tampa getting off the bulk of Cirelli's cap hit are Chaz Lucius and the picks. Logan Stanley and David Gustafsson represent cheap reclamation projects that the Jets don't have room for, and who could be cheap depth for the Lightning going forward.

That conversation goes something like this
GMCC: Julien got a trade for you says above .
GMJBB: Chevy my friend have you been altering your mind with serious drugs lately? I'll pass.

Tampa isn't going to retain on Cirelli for 7 years.

As much as I like Cirelli, he's a 3C and theJets already have a pretty good one. Cirelli just doesn't fill a need.

Yeah TB is giving up a Selke caliber 2C. And retaining for 7 f***ING years for reclamation projects . This is utterly delusional!

I see where you are going with this deal. Jets could use a 2C locked up for multiple years and the bolts need to get younger and add some picks.
I like it for the jets, but I think he costs more than that. You'd probably have to replace Stanley with Heinola

See, this is the type of constructive comment that I'm looking for, lol. I think that with the retention, the Jets would seriously consider doing Lucius, Heinola, a 1st and the other two. Stanley doesnt actually have value to us, we just need him off our books to make the money work this year. From the Jets' perspective, Cirelli becomes a 2C this year, and probably next year, then in year 3 is our 3C behind Scheifele and Lambert, with Lowry as 4C and it all sort of works at cirelli for 5.25m but becomes hard to fit at a higher number. If Tampa would consider retaining if the Jets make the offer worth it, I think there's a chance for this to work for both sides. Tampa would clear 5.25m in cap space and return three cost-controlled assets (heinola, lucius and the 1st), then a couple of reclamation projects who might be cheap depth as early as next year.

This is the type of deal i want Chevy to make. if he's giving up 1st and top prospects then I wanna see a legit player with term.
I don't see any retention on that type of deal, just doesn't happen often
This is my list of C's I like
Brayden Schenn-long term deal into his late 30's and has a NTC and is the blues captain so probably not available. Ive always liked his gritty game
Buchnevich- probably available, 1 year left after this year, but doesn't really play C a whole lot
Boone Jenner-probably not available but another gritty guy that would fit the jets
Scott Laughton-probably more of a 3C, but he could definitely slide in on the 2nd line. Does everything well.
Kuzenetsov- definitely available as he's struggled the last couple of years. Big contract with one more year, but they might retain. Used to play in all situation and was a skilled top 6 C a couple years ago. I would be hesitant to trade for him, but maybe a change of scenery.
Josh Norris-saw a couple posts about him being available. I highly doubt he is and he definitely shouldn't be IMO. Still...he'd be the 2C for years to come

Not really interested in any of those guys except Norris, who would cost an arm and a leg but I would definitely consider life as an amputee if the Jets could add him.

Guys I'm interested in: Yanni Gourde, Casey Mittelstadt, Dylan Strome.
