Personally I’d rather target someone better than Monahan, whether it’s a center to keep the Lotto Line together or a winger and putting Miller back to center. Guentzel, Lindholm, Novak, Tarasenko, Giroux, Buchnevich, Henrique, etc are guys I’d target first

Novak is easily better. Henrique you can maybe argue but I’m still taking him. Monahan has not been good this year apart from on the PP (which he wouldn’t play on for the Canucks.) 11 of his 24 points are on the PP, and he’s been awful defensively this year

Damn, yeah I’d still take him over the other 3rd line centres though, Good defensively throughout his whole career and he’s only 28. These 40 games are the outlier. It’s 600 games vs 40. Most likely has to do with linemate/system.
