I don't see why Minnesota would trade Gustavsson. He has a reasonable cap hit and a tandem with him and Wallstedt the next 2+ years is probably the most ideal scenario for the Wild.

Sure they could be bad next year, but they also might bounce back next year. Either way, with Kaprizov there I can't see the Wild going into a rebuild, that's the reason I don't see them trading Gustavsson. He's only 25yrs old and is a proven starter, which Wallstedt isn't at this point.

True, but they'll also have a number of young talented players like Boldy and Eriksson Ek. Marco Rossi and Brock Faber are rookies who have played well, if both of them improve the team could be a lot better. Plus, Spurgeon and Brodin have been injured most of this year, getting them healthy would help the Wild a ton.

All I'm saying is that it's entirely plausible that the Wild are having a down year and can bounce back next year.
