Description
Dubois supposedly isn't producing because he hasn't been given good enough wingers. In this scenario he plays with Kopitar. If he can't produce when playing with Kopitar, then he's out of excuses.

I think Fiala-Byfield-Kempe is the 1st line of the future, so why wait to put them together?

Kaliyev and Spence traded to make room for Arvidsson's return from LTIR. Spence is still waiver exempt, so he could be demoted to the AHL and traded in the off-season instead, but with Clarke's recall there's no room for him on this team.

Habs could send Struble for Kaliyev. Both team could benefit from it. Struble, despite is limited experience have shown that he belong in the NHL and that he can have a immediate impact. Would be a upgrade on Englund and he is still under team control for couple more year. Kaliyev would certainly have more opportunities in MTL.

Struble doesn't fill the role that Englund does. The Kings need a large, truculent young defenseman that isn't a defensive liability. Struble is fine, but not really what the Kings are looking for.

I picked Montreal as a placeholder, but it really could be any team.

What are you talking about. Struble is already a better defender then Englund. He also have a physical edge with already 35 hit in 21 games despite having very little ice time in the first 7 games. Englund have 15 takeways in 116 games, he is a defensive liability. Kings tend to start him in offensive zone more often because they can’t trust him. Struble get tougher opposition and still managed to generate more offense. He is faster and process the game a lot quicker. And he is 22 you clearly haven’t watch him played. Englund already hits is ceiling. Struble will only get better and better. Struble is exactly what the King need on defense. They have Spence and Clarke, adding a strong physical defender is just logic.

It has nothing to do with being a good defender. They need a large, mean defenseman that can protect Clarke from cheap shots. Englund already does exactly that. Bjornfot was a better player than Englund, but he got waived because he doesn't bring the nasty like Englund does.

Struble is a fine defenseman, arguably better at hockey than Englund. However, without him, the Kings defense is soft, and it hurt them in the playoffs the past two years against big forwards like Draisaitl, Kane, and Hyman. For the hockey stuff, they have Anderson and Gavrikov, both of whom are miles better than Struble.

You didn’t watch Struble play. Struble is a thought son of a *^{*%. He handle bigger guy’s like they are 5´8´´ guy’s. He doesn’t drop glove much but wheb he did he is dangerous. Englund only purpose is to drop glove. Coming playoff time he doesn’t have any utility for a team. Englund conceded 5 pound to Struble who is 4 inches smaller Struble is build like a football safety. With a lower gravity center he is really dangerous. At least if Englubd was a heavy weight but he is just a not so good defenseman who is destined to play the 7th role.

Struble has dropped the gloves exactly twice, and neither time was he very dangerous.

Englund has proven to be a solid defenseman this season, making the drop in toughness between he and Struble not worth it. Also FWIW, Englund leads the Kings in drawn penalties this season. For whatever reason, opposing players love to take a run at him and end up getting penalized for it.

If Montreal wants to put Xhekaj on the trade block, the Kings might be interested. They have no interest in Struble.

Saying they have no interest is completely false. Struble was one of Bergevin favorite and since Bergevin work for the Kings its just a logical thing to assume that they have interest. No mather what your feeling are on this, this is actual facts.
By the way if Englund is your 6th defenseman for this year playoffs run you won’t make it past the second round. I would be willing to take a 1000$ bet with you.

Montreal fans love to use the "Bergevin works for the KIngs" as an excuse to dump all your expendable players here. They said that about Monahan and Edmundson last year, and guess what, didn't happen.

Englund has played quite well for the Kings so far, but I don't disagree that they'll probably look to replace him before the playoffs. If they do, it's not going to be with Struble.
