Description

To those who think Nylander is replaceable by any two mid tier forwards. The Leafs signed two of those guys this year in Bertuzzi and Domi and Willy has a 14 more points than them combined. And that is with Bertuzzi playing with Nylander who definitely has got him some extra points. Yeah I wish Treliving would have signed Willy in the off season for 10 or less but he's a bad GM and missed the boat. Big time.

Now you sign Willy make next season work and then really address issues once JT makes 7 million or less the year after.

If calculator boy set the culture parameters straight, maybe Wily would be making $10M at this moment. Too bad Dubas had to overpay on Matthews, Marner, and Tavares at those times. Treliving is in a lose-lose boat

Toronto would have lost on any trade that was made available for Nylander in the end. I believe Tavares will go team friendly on his next contract. He wants to win in Toronto. I would try to keep the term short again
on any UFA contracts signed this off season. The GM and the scouting staff will need to dig deep this off season, to try and find the right depth player's on affordable contracts for next season.

Nope wrong again. As I said, if calculator boy didn't get manhandled and bullied by Mitch and Paul, Tre would be able to negotiate properly. A prototypical Dubas blunder ruined this franchise

It is insane to think you can pay four players all of the money and still win anything. You need a balanced team. Also, has no one heard of a contract year? Nylander has never played this good before and he likely will take a big step back in the years to follow. Trade him now. It will look like you "lost the deal" now... but in 3 years when nylander is getting 75 pts a year and making 11.5 mill - you'll look like a genius.

The insane thing is that every team pays their core big bucks. Some teams don't ever win anything but it's a bigger deal when it's the Leafs. Also they aren't paying JT half as much after next season so the whole, "4 players making 11+" rhetoric is nonsense.
