They’ll let Montour walk and keep Ekblad

I thought Montour was their number 1 D now. He’s led them in ice time the last two years as Ekblad’s ice time has gone down and is 3rd on the team this year.

Short answer is an easy no he's not available.

Zero chance of Ekblad waiving for a team in full rebuild mode, And no he's not a Flyer fan so he's not waiving.

Someone is bound to give him near Hamilton money

I doubt his reputation is that high. Probably 7 x 7 though

He wouldn’t have to waive. MNTC after this year. And he has done stuff with Snider hockey in the past so he has previous ties with the flyers org.

I don't think Ekblad is the right guy to target for a huge move on D, dude has too bad of an injury history the last few years and the acquisition cost in both trade value and contract extension would be way too risky.

Honestly think I'd prefer them to pursue Hanafin in FA if they're presses to make a move this summer
