To be honest, it would be weird, yet interesting to see if the sharks go up to the cap as they've had for the past 15 years. $19m in cap space is great, but I'm not sure if its the right time to go big whale hunting in UFA.

I could maybe see them going after an older big time FA like Tarasenko and help play with the young guys for 3 years

100% not time! If we have guys like Smith, Eklund, and Celebrini plus the other talented prospects sharks need to keep eyes towards the future and their big contracts coming. Plus after 2 seasons of 60-70% or even less sometimes crowds sharks should consider playing at the cap floor during the rebuild to recoup some costs.

Totally agree. We just have an owner that doesn’t mind spending to the cap and wants to turn this around quickly. That could be our Achilles heel for a rebuild.

Yea but he also didn’t want to rebuild but Grier changed that pretty damn fast and Grier has shown remarkable patience with the prospects and as we have seen from Eklund it’s working wonders! Be patient sharks fans come 25/26 we’re going to start seeing the fruits of our struggles in the NHL!

Yep. Tons of cap space and the beginning of our prospects prime. We just need to find that top-end goalie. Just like the Rangers and Stars did.

What we need is to figure out a solid bridge goalie and draft 2-3 goalies with potential Kahkonen and Blackwood could be but in 25/26 sharks will have a few options if neither one work out long term
