Pretty easy no for Calgary. It's a weak offer even if you remove the 2nd

Not at all available but it would probably start with Willander/Brtzustewics + Raty + 1st. Which I highly doubt Vancouver would be willing to pay

Raty plus a 1st would seem fair, but either of the other guys would be an overpay

For 7 more years of him? He's not a rental lol. Go ask what Islanders fans would want for Pulock

He's not, but he's also got a ton of term left too. Pulock is different as his game is already showing signs of regression, where as Weegar isn't there yet

And that term brings his cost up, not down.

Pulock is literally on LTIR, not sure how you call that "signs of regression."

Lets get this straight. The price to acquire Weegar, especially to a division rival will cost more far more than you are going to be willing to pay. You are far better off targeting Pesce or Roy in the offseason

idk what flames are doing tbh
Huberdeau situation is a gong show
they might do a rebuild in summer or a retool
Who knows at the end of the day if he's available right now or later, we don't have the knowledge to know for certain if he's available or not to begin with

Calgary has 2 NHL defensemen under contract for next season. He's a top 20 defenseman in the league, a top 5 defensive defenseman on top of that, and he is a great player for mentoring young guys. Regardless of the direction Calgary goes he's well worth keeping around

I agree, but as for Pulock, his game was regressing last year. Still a competent defender, but might not be top pair caliber anymore

I don't like the trade for the Flames. Here's why:
1. The Flames don't need Garland, and that's also a part of the reason Canucks fans like throwing him in trades. Because $5M of cap space are more valuable than what he provides on the ice.
2. Kravtsov is done, and I don't see him returning to the NHL
3. Woo cleared waivers at the beginning of the season and could've been had for free, he will have to pass them again next year if he doesn't make the team.

Okay, so the Flames are getting back what is equivalent to trading up from a 2nd(#43) to a 1st (#30) in 2024. That's not nearly enough in my book. It doesn't matter how many Dubes, Gilberts, and Ruzickas I offer you for Hronek, you won't trade him.

Now the Flames might consider trading Weegar, but unless it's an overpay (Stud prospect or a couple of firsts), I think that would be something they do in the off-season 2025, or 26, when another D prospect is ready to take a step.
