Maybe we ride with this team into the playoffs

Description
This team has shown that they can play with the big boys. Team defense is clicking, Team unity is positive, depth in the lower lines is solid. If we add a 1RHD or 2c could that just screw up where this team is now? I am thinking if this team does not have any more major injuries that Chevy doesn't do anything major moves. I for years have been after a 1RHD but there really isn't anyone out there that is available. This would also push DeMelo to the 3rd pairing and I don't know how the team will react to this. I would like to see the right defense to be Pulock, Pionk, and DeMelo but is the team needing this kind of change? Not right now but if a major injury or 2 happens then pull the trigger.

I say do nothing but add depth. How many teams in recent years do better when they mess with team chemistry and add a big name. Rangers would be the perfect example last year.

Seems like the Jets chemistry is working this year. Wheeler and Dubois are gone and Scheifele is playing a 200 ft game.

They sure are rolling. Glad Dubois is gone, don't feel the same way about Wheeler. Know him personally from attending social events together and he is one hell of a good person. Personally, I think he was very mistreated in Winnipeg at the end and was used as a scapegoat.

Just to add, Leafs under Dubas trading away so many picks and futures, for one round playoff round victory. Most TDL trades don't help the buyers at all.
Wish the Jets the best of success.

No doubt that Wheeler and his wife were great for the city but I think age and injuries were Wheeler's downfall which lead to his buyout. Unfortunately this sport has turned into a business.

This team is one of the best teams in the league. They have not lost a step with key injuries, and the call ups have been great, but they have to go all in, and sacrifice the 1st and a prospect to get a 2C.

In the short term, maybe see if a team will take Kupari and Stanley for draft picks, so some guys who deserve to be up stay, but you'd have to expect one of AJF, Gustafsson Toninato will be lost on waivers. It sucks, but those are the roster limits they face.

It will suck losing players to waivers but I think players understand this. What will suck more is who will be sent to the 4th line when Connor returns and a 2C get inserted on the 2nd line. Names will be one but who is the other? Iafallo? I don't know what it will do to the chemistry they have right now? I agree with you if the team starts sliding but if they stay healthy, I wouldn't rock the boat.

If we can't add a legit #1 or at least great top 4 two way RD I think this team is good enough to beat any team in the league already and we should just shore up on depth, don't sell our future for konecny or top 6 forwards

With Scheif, Helle, and Nino extending, there may have been talks about how to approach the contending window which likely includes taking the swings many contenders do, by sacrificing futures to add depth for a deep playoff run. The team is full of guys who like to play for each other, and are friends off the ice, but this is the time to act, and there is a hole at the 2C.

The addition can't just be anyone. They'd have yo fit into the culture the team has created, but they can't just sit back, especially if contending teams in the WC like Dallas, Vancouver, Vegas, and Colorado add to their lineups for their own playoff pushes

If Chevy can find another Paul Stastny type of player, then sure but who?
