Agree. If the Bruins can get Hanifin extended, Lohrei and a likely late 1st is a pretty good deal. Although to be fair Lohrei already looks pretty good as a rookie, just stats wise anyway. That 1st could demand a little something beyond Hanifin, dunno..

Maybe but not Ruzicka, we need to keep him at least until we know what's happening with the pending UFAs, especially Lindholm. Besides he played very well at LW on the 1st line last year. He was hovering around 1 PPG for 20 games or so then inexplicably got dropped to the bottom 6 after a couple games without a point.

Bruins likely pass on this one, they have contract control with Lohrei and they need to see what they have with him. If the reports are true, Noah was exploring going home to Boston as a UFA this summer anyway. No point in giving this much up. Bruins stay the course and go UFA shopping in the summer.

I wouldn't say that is how they always operate - I mean generally speaking they are in the top 5 for GA and have good defensive metrics. I mean the Bruins have made deadline trades in which they thought would improve their team - Taylor Hall, Lindholm, Bertuzzi etc. The difference this year, they aren't all in for Bergeron. Bruins are doing ok right now and there is no reason to pay that price for Noah. If he extends before summer, he extends (that being said, doesn't look likely it will be with the Flames). There are other players to trade for or sign.

i wouldnt be so sure he wouldnt resign in calgary.i actually think adding Ruzicka in this deal is a overpay for calgary.Hanifin is worth a 1st and a 2nd.Hanifin is young,a outstanding skater and a very good dman.

Keep Ruzicka then - he is another bottom 6 forward which the Bruins have loads of. He is a 25 year old center who has struggled to crack the line up. Hanifin is indeed a good player, but again, Bruins don't have a lot of prospect depth. They won't move a smooth skating, puck moving D man under a rookie contract and a 1st for Noah. They are better off staying the course with Lohrei, letting him develop and have a D man you can use for a number of years to come with a very manageable contract.

Again this isn't the year for "all in" when you don't have Bergeron or Krecji. Add depth pieces at reasonable price points and then go UFA shopping next summer.

Fair, what's the extension at vs having a rookie D man under a cap controlled contract etc.
