I would not trade Robo. Especially when you have Tavares and Marner coming off the books.

CHI would say yes I think, but does this help TOR that much? I don't see how this really moves the needle for the Leafs. You add two guys who are "ok".

I don’t mind this deal. Hawks get younger but for equal level talent. Plus the 1st. Player-wise it’s a lateral move for both teams.

Sorry, but I'm gonna disagree w/ both of you. The likely late 1st for Murphy and Raddysh is a good start. But Timmins and Robertson don't have a lot of value to me. Timmins is a downgrade from Murphy on the blue line. His offensive upside doesn't make up for his defensive deficiencies. And the guy is never healthy. He's only played 130 games total (out of a possible 300+) in 5 seasons as a pro. Robertson shows good scoring ability, but again, dude can't stay healthy. He's played 109 games in 4 years as a pro. Until he shows he can stay healthy for a full season, his trade value to me is minimal. If I'm Kyle from Chicago, Hawks don't make this deal, especially with the retention on Murphy. Hawks aren't that desperate to add a likely late 1st IMO.

I hope you're right obviously. I just think most GMs will view Murphy as "he's fine," and I think Raddysh's value peaked last TDL / offseason, and this year so far he hasn't done a ton to suggest he will net a big return.

Someone may indeed get desperate, or possibly some team convinces itself that it has 3 solid d-men and Murphy would do as the 4th one. I hope so.
