I should warn you... Korpisalo also isn't good.

He had a solid year last year, but he has gone back to his historical self this year. He is a mediocre back up goalie making low end starter money. He should be making 2m a year and not for 5 years.

I really didn't like the signing on the day of the signing. 4m x 5 years, for a goalie who historically is a mediocre back up, was rough to see. Bad move by Ottawa's GM.

He may not be the problem. But he was not a good option to solve your goaltending. At least not at that cap hit and term. 2.5m x 2-3 years? Sure. What he got was not a smart move.

I agree with this as well though.

He was good last year in LA, Talbot was bad in Ott
This year Talbot is good in LA, Korpisalo is bad in Ott

Doesn't look like goaltending is the problem. Seems more like the team in front of them. LA makes it easy on their goaltenders
