Alright, This is the final capitals playmaker trade for now. I retained 20% of kuzy's salary and added a really good prospect in the form of Cristall as well as adding a lot of draft capital. I think this is a little overboard though. Pettersson's contract ends this year and is not that much less than kuzy's who's ends in 2 years. if y'all think this is fair or not fair please just be nice about it. Its a miss. To get a guy like petty would we need to send Cristall, Leonard, and Miro all together and thats just not a good idea

Only issue I would see here, is Vancouver is in win now mode, it just doesn't make a ton of sense for them to do this move for a less superior player, prospect and picks

yeah but i could see this happening at or before the trade deadline if pettersson doesn't resign. This is because i really dont see the canucks letting him walk in free agency this offseason. They've either got to trade him or resign him before the trade deadline so they can get a good price.

I think kuzy with 20% retained, Cristall and tons of draft capital is enough to sign a superstar center who's hesitant to sign an extension. They either trade pettersson or they sign him and he doesn't seem to be willing to resign with the canucks. So when the deadline comes, i could see this being a very acceptable offer for the canucks.

Not if petty doesn't want to sign with the canucks and they aren't just gonna let him walk this offseason. I think he either gets traded before the deadline or he gets an extension with the canucks.

They are contending, he isn't going to walk and they are going for a win

Zero chance he gets traded at the deadline and zero chance he walks this offseason since he’s an RFA

This one is a lot better, but still not enough retention with value of other assets.
Petey is not in a "I don't want to resign" they are talking, but are focused on winning.

Kuzy would not even make our top 2 center spots, I honestly think they'd put Suter as our 2C behind Miller. Due to the defensive blackhole that Kuzy is.

Thank youtears of joy Although, I would say that i think kuzy would fit in great in vancouver. He is on a bit of a slump and his defensive play hasnt been great as of recent but we've also got to factor in the coaching changes, off the ice challenges and being injured the past couple of seasons. He's proven that he can produce and play an important role on good caps teams.

And on the topic of EP40, He has been vague on his intentions with vancouver but i do think he'll most likely resign with the canucks, although I do also think that in the chance he doesn't resign this could be a very possible trade because there aren't really any notable top 6 centers on the market right now other than kuzy.

just having fun
