Description
Not saying these are good moves just feel like Brad like his big Dmen and apparently he already looked into it but Philly didn’t want to change anything at the time. When they fall off you bet he’ll call back. Apparently also ask if he could get 2 defenders in one trade so idk feel like it could happen.
1 puck mover to replace some of kling
1 big physical guy he loves having.

Plus a physical defensive forward

You may be right. But his record as Flames GM, one playoff round win and four non playoff appearances. Maybe bigger isn't better.

The problem is they don’t have enough pick or prospects to get players that would really make a difference.
He’s always had very defensive teams. Good D core and 2 way centres but that’s not what he has so I’m sure he doesn’t even love the team right now.

He’s made some bad signings but honestly his trades were pretty decent. The tkachuk trade was looked on as really good when he made it but messed up by signing the players after. He should’ve let it play out so hopefully he learned.

The main thing is he’s finally in a place where players want to come and stay unlike Calgary.

I think to really judge him we need to see the team after the deadline and to start next season

I'm not really a fan of so many "silly" TDL moves. They have make difference to the buying teams fortunes 95% of the time Maybe I just jaded due to Dubas trading away so many futures for one playoff round win.
You're right about the Leafs having few NHL prospects (thanks Dubas). Most teams need some young players on cheap ELCs playing above their contract to make the team cap work. Leafs have two, Knies and Robertson.
Going into tonight's game, the Leafs were fifth overall in the league, despite all the doom and gloom. So, i hope Trevling doesn't wants to turn the Leafs into the 27th place Flames or the his Flames that made the playoffs 50% of the time.

For sure.
It definitely makes me nervous knowing he’ll have some cap in the offseason. I just hope he makes smart moves on players that are for sure useful or 1 year deals so they aren’t locked in.

There’s a big chance for him in the next couple year to make a true cup contender but who knows what he does

You're right. The Leafs finally have "lots" of cap next summer. Let's hope Trevling and friends spend the cap wisely.

It's a great return for Philly. But I think there is almost zero chance the Flyers retain on Risto. They want to keep 2 of their retention slots open or on short term deals.
