Do you realize Vancouver doesn't have enough cap space to afford Wennberg.

Canucks pass. Not giving up a 2nd and 3rd for a marginal upgrade.

If Seattle wants to sell I'd love Larsson though.

I appreciate you knowing that even if Seattle ends up selling this deadline it will likely be a soft sell of rental players with an eye towards reloading for next year, instead of a full teardown involving the selling of key players. Kudos!

Some minor feedback on your trades: While I would love to get a first rounder for Eberle, I don't really see that happening unless he picks up his scoring. Right now, I'd peg his value at around a second round pick plus a decent prospect/young NHLer in need of a change of scenery. The return on Wennberg might be a touch optimistic too, I would say he nets a second rounder but maybe not second and third rounders. I think you have about the right value on Schultz, although with him being half retained I think the Kraken might be able to extract a halfway decent prospect in addition to the third round pick, but that's a minor point. There's a lot of time left between now and the trade deadline though, so player valuations could easily change as we get closer to deadline day.

As a Kraken fan, this is a lot better than most Kraken ACGM's that I usually see on this site, so once again, kudos!

Eberle isn't worth a first round pick, plus Vegas would want retention

They would with the way I have to deal laid out, one of Blueger or Suter going the other way and half retained.

I added 50% retained, and Eberle with deadline inflation value is definitely worth a late first, I would say an early second maybe but Vegas doesn’t have that.

I think calling Wennberg a “marginal upgrade” over Suter or Blueger is quite the insult to Wennberg honestly. And I’m really not gonna say much about it other than go look at their points totals over the last few years.

Second, I do agree that Larsson would fit well in VAN but I’m unsure if they’d be looking to sell guys with multiple years still on their deal.

Thank you for you honest and kind feedback. It was a nice breath of fresh air on this site. I completely understand what you’re saying for each point, but my reasoning essentially boiled down to the fact that deadline deals tend to have inflated costs (hence Wennberg netting a 2nd + 3rd). And I definitely agree on the Eberle thing and I probably would’ve chosen a second round pick if Vegas had one that wasn’t gonna be pick #60-64.

Suter and Wennberg have pretty much identical point totals 2 of the last 3 years. Wennberg is also a sub 40pt guy. I like Wennberg and he's better than Blueger but I don't think by enough to really change much and I think Suter and Wennberg are pretty damn equal. Suter is very very strong defensively and on the PK.
