Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

CONDITION: The Pens see that they are clearly out of the 2024 playoff Retooling did not work. So, it's time to rebuild.

Trades:

- 4th+ round peaks' trades - there could be any teams.

- Guentzel's trade. I assume Minnesota makes it to the 2024 playoff. So, they need (1) offense enforesment (Guentzel) with 50% salary retention, (2) to move expensive Fleury contract and (3) get bottom line players that Minnesota likes. Additionally, Minnesota has enough money to re-sign Guentzel to a 7-year contract (7x9MM). For doing that they will pay: 1st round (they have a lot of prospects) and 2 prospects: Heidt and Hunt.

- Pettersson's trade: Toronto needs him for 2 years with only 2MM under the cap. They will also trade Reaves (singing mistake) to free up cap space. Pens will buyout Reaves in summer 2024. Robertson and late 1st peak is a fair price for this package.

Others who will not be traded:

- Crosby will stay no matter what

- Malkin and Letang will leave only if they want. Malkin still can be a really good 2C for Colorado, Boston, Florida, Columbus. Letang can retire to Habs. But anyway, they will not move anywhere this season.

- Smith, Rust, Rakell are too ... old to move without salary retention. I would rather use retention spots for Guentzel and Pettersson as Pens can get better prospects/peaks.

- EK67 - may be traded in summer 2024 with 50% salary retention to Carolina, Florida or Toronto.
