Maybe ~ $5.5m x 4 years, 3 years if we would take it.
Hanifin still makes the most sense because he is a good player coming from a system where they play similarly to NJD. But unless we want strict rental…he will likely cost same or more.
I don’t know where Bahl>Fowler comes from. Tintin said the same. Do you think Bahl plays 25 minutes a night in Anaheim?
Exactly. If he was on the open market you’d offer him 5.5 in cap and 0 in other assets. Then why on earth would you want to get him at 6.5 in cap and a HAUL in other assets
Bahl is not better than Fowler.
I’d value bahl around 2.5 mill right now, with some upside.
Fowler costs 5.5 mill AAV more than bahl, so in order for that straight up swap to make sense, Fowler would have to be valued around 8 mill.
Then adding on the cost of giving up a 1st and recent 2nd, which I’d value around 9 mill (or 3x3)
That would mean in order for me to want to make this deal, I’d have to value Fowler as an 11 million dollar. I certainly don’t.
Or for another comparable: we’re paying here approximately the Chychrun price.
For a worse, much older, 2 mill AAV more expensive player.
